Windows XP ActiveX Installer

Hello,
I am trying to use the GPO's "Approved Installation Sites for ActiveX Controls" and "ActiveX installation policy for sites in Trusted Zones". Problem I am having it seems that this GPO was introduced for Windows Vista and newer. How do I make this work on Windows XP or do I need to? On the XP computers I am unable to verify that the ActiveX is installing since it is not showing in the Components, so I can only assume that it is not installing.
At the same time I have checked the application/system logs on the XP computer and do not see the axinstaller source when I try and filter, again proving it is not running. When I run RSOP on a Windows XP computer I do see an area under the "Machine Configuration" that is called "Extra Registry Settings", but they do not appear to actually control the way IE is handling ActiveX controls since the settings are still configurable in the browser and not changed to what it should be.

Friday, November 30, 2012 2:15 PM Thanks for the reply but I did figure this out. The settings I was using were not applying to Windows XP since they dont "exist" however in the Machine Config > Policies > admin templates > Windows Components > internet explorer > internet control panel> security page > trusted sites zone were the settings I needed to enable.
