Hi,
Firstly, please let us know what the DLLs are.
Meanwhile, please try the following and see how it works:
1. Temporary disable all add-ons or run Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Reference: Internet Explorer add-ons: frequently asked questions
2. Try to reset Internet Explorer settings.
Hope this helps.

Thx for the response. I found spyware on the laptop that was causing the issue b/c it had installed a new toolbar and a generic search engine. After cleaning off the spyware, I removed and reinstalled IE8. This resolved the issue.
