답변됨 Info on IE8 Taskbar Tab

    Hi,

I'm sure this is a very simple question but for the life of me, I can't remember where the setting is. Basically, when opening a link within Internet Explorer (not using tabbed browsing so another window opens on the task bar), you can see the page header on the newly created task bar window as shown here:

I have had to re-create a user's profile and since then, only the URL is displayed on these taskbar windows. I've been through the settings over and over again but can't find the correct one to change this behaviour. Can someone kindly put me out of my misery?

    Cheers

    Paul

    Hi,

Let us reset Internet Explorer settings for a test.

    1. Click Start, type in “inetcpl.cpl” and press Enter.

    2. Switch to Advanced tab.

    3. Click Reset.

    4. Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivateFiltering data.

    5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

    6. Re-launch IE8 and check if the issue has been resolved.

    Hi,

The user is using a brand new roaming profile so all of the settings for IE had already been reset in this process. However, I have asked the user to try the reset but this hasn't worked.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

Can you provide another problematic screenshot for compare?

And also, does the issue happen on all machines or just specific machine? Only for Windows XP or for all version of Windows?

    Thanks,

    Spencer.

    Problem PC

The above is what's shown on the problem PC after opening up a link within a window and this is what is shown when opening the exact same from a different PC (different account):

Both are IE8 and both Win XP. I'm quite sure this is a setting as it doesn't happen to anyone else and it follows the user around from machine to machine. I just can't for the life of me find what or where this is controlled by.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Try this.

    a. Tools-> Internet Options -> "Security" tab

    b. Select your zone and then "Custome level..." button.

    c. In "Miscellaneous" section:

"Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints"

       Set to "Enable"

    d. Restart IE.

    Thanks,

Perfect! There was absolutely no way I would have guessed it could be this setting. Thank you very much :)
