This page describes the problem I'm having except that mine is visible only when editing a SharePoint 2010 wiki page using IE9.

I have tried all of the solutions suggested on this page and none have resolved the issue. Any help is much appreciated.

for questions about html, css and scripting for website developers please post to the IE Web Development forum (with a link to your website, not a link to another forum question... we need to inspect your full markup and server response headers)

sharepoint web pages should be viewed using IE7 Emulation Mode... improvements to ol rendering were made in IE8.
outstanding bugs for innerHTML can be viewed at connect.microsoft.com/ie
