(1) If I install FIM 2010 R2 RTM Service and Portal and then apply a roll up, it will upgrade the registry/binaries/DB to a newer version. (2) Now if I want to add Reporting and SSPR Portals on the same server, I will need to run the
R2 RTM msi and then rerun the patch msp. Will this cause any versioning problem?
I was thinking of a scenario like this: all the registry settings/binaries/DB are upgraded to a newer version after performing the steps in (1). And then running the R2 RTM msi, which is not aware about the rollups, which may result in a situation where some
of those config may remain in RTM state while the rest in rollup state. And then when we run the patches in (2), the rollup may not able to handle all these misalignments.
Another scenario, say you install the FIM Service/Portal/Reporting/SSPR and then patch them. Later you add Lang Pack.
I bet I am over-engineering, but thought would be nice to confirm.
