What exactly does it mean and what is he short and longterm impact on FIM/Certificate Management piece of the product?
This is important as my client is in the process of adapting this capability of FIM.

Hi,
The current article mentions only the MA to FIM CM being deprecated (and from my experience it wasn't really widely used). I'm also curious to hear what are the long term plans for the entire FIM CM component.

This is important as my client is in the process of adapting this capability of FIM.Short term there really is no impact. Long term is that in some future
version of the product the FIM CM management agent will no longer be
shipped with the product and will no longer be supported. Does this mean
that in some future version of the product the FIM CM MA may eventually
stop working? Perhaps, but no one outside of the product group really knows
for sure at this point, and even they may not know for sure at this point
in time.If I were doing a deployment for a customer currently who wanted to use the
FIM CM MA I would do my best to dissuade them from doing so and instead
would look into using the provisioning or external SQL APIs instead.I can tell you that you are not likely to get insight into any long term
plans here.
