IPv6 and slow websites

We are starting to run IPv6 internally but we do not have any externally routeable IPv6 addresses yet. Some websites are now very slow to respond to requests. Besides shutting off IPv6, is there anythign that can be done to prevent to slow response time? We are currently running DNS in a Windows 2008 R2 domain it that matters. Any suggestions?
