I have a copy of XP pro SP3 (English) on my computer and would like to install a copy of xp home SP2 (Simplified Chinese) also and run the computer as a dual boot system.
    Can this be done?
If it can be done what are the necessary steps to making it work

Yes, it can work, Only IF Chinese characters are recognized by your BIOS hardware, and if there are, this will mean changing your BIOS every time you want to boot into a different language (which will be a hassle!), plus, dual booting can bring compatibility issues, especially file system compatibility issues.

I would suggest you implement the Chinese version in a virtual environment like Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Why?

Benefit 1:  It can emulate Chinese characters!
Benefit 2:  You can run the Chinese version concurrently with your English version (with no dual boots, and with no compatibility issues)

Virtualization is a true blessing to IT!
