Since I installed Digital Persona Password Manager, system start up is extremely slow. Before DPPM, start up took 10-15 seconds. After DPPM, it takes 3 - 5 minutes. Most of the time the display says "Loading your personal settings" Can anyone suggest what might be going on? If this isn't resolvable, I don't think the extra security is worth the trouble.

Since you have already identified that program as the culprit, the only thing I can recommend is to check with the maker of that software for any known issues when installed on a Vista system.

Apologies, I should have identified my OS as Windows XP. However, this is a Microsoft product, sold with the Microsoft name on it. I searched everything I could think of on microsoft.com and got no hits, so it appears to be an unsupported product. If there is another source for support, I'd be glad to contact them.

I know this is an extremely old thread, but I myself am having the same issue. Was there ever a fix for this, beyond what was posted?
