AnswerWhere does the LocalMetaData folder belong?

A found a strange folder called LocaleMetaData on my desktop. I suspect it's a Vista folder that got dragged there by mistake. Probably EventViewer-related. It has one file, "AuditFailures_1033.MTA", which sounds like a custom view I made at one time. The contents (viewed in notepad) look like event log data. The mta extension has no program associations.

I want to put the folder back where it belongs but don't know where - anyone have an idea?

I have 4 Vista systems here and in all of them the 'LocaleMetaData' folder is a sub-folder in the

C:\Users\username\Documents folder. (Where username is the name of your account)

    Hope this helps.

Thank you - I think that fixed a few problems with the Event Viewer!
