    Hi
    my webcam (BisonCam) is not recognised (shown with a yellow question-mark in the instaler assistant).
    It seems that Ihave not the driver for it.
    When I tried to instal the one you give in the previous post, it says : "this programme requieres windows NT 6.0.5744". I have windows XP-SP2.
    May you give me an url for downloading directly the driver.
    Could you tell me too if it is a BIOS problem?

    Best regards

    Christophe

    Hi,

    I finally got my bisoncam to work in Vista..
    Just install the drivers from the link given above and add the following to your windows registry.

    If u'r unsure hw to add it to the registry, just copy and paste the code below in a text file and rename it as .reg

    Double click the reg file to add the entries into the registry..

    Follow the description of ronak2032, then your camera will work with Windows Vista! And when the picture is the wrong way just change the value from the registry key "AgcGainType" from 0 to 1.

    Just create a EXAMPLENAME.reg with the text editor, with the following content:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cam5603D]

    "DeviceOffOn"=dword:00000000
    "CpuUsage"=dword:00000000
    "DcOffset"=dword:00000000
    "AeTable"=dword:00000000
    "PCB_SIZE"=dword:00000001
    "PropShowItem"=dword:00000000
    "SXGASize"=dword:00000001
    "BlockS3S4"=dword:00000000
    "AETarget"=dword:00000000
    "FlikerLim"=dword:00000000
    "InterpolationMethod"=dword:00000000
    "ADC"=dword:00000000
    "DC_Level"=dword:00000000
    "Gama_Offset"=dword:00000000
    "ImageEffect"=dword:00000000

    Just download the driver package from ASUS's website for your notebook model. I grabbed the ones for the Z83V if you want the exact same ones I used. And yes, its the same one for XP SP2.

    Hi Cobra,

    problem solved. You just need to download the drivers and applications from:

    ftp://ftp.acer.pl/notebook/aspire_5100/vista/Drivers/

    ftp://ftp.acer.pl/notebook/aspire_5100/vista/Applications/

    After you install them your image will be mirrored, so I have solved this by MSN Live Messenger Cam Configurations -> Flip Image Horizontaly.

    Done, everything working just fine.

    I was for a few month looking how to make it work, but I could yesterday.

    Thanks to everyone for your help in making my ASUS w5ae work with windows vista.

    The only thing I can do is run Aero, but everything is working OK.

    I did this:

    Install windows XP drivers, it says something went wrong and he couldnt install the bison camera.

    Then I installed every attached file as the backup.log described (create folders and copy files) and when I restart my windows started to search for new hardware and worked perfectly.

    I hope this works for everyone,

    I put the files on my office webpage:

    The only thing I know for sure is that I wont buy any other asus notebook again, I cant beleive they dont give us support.

    Hi ronak20332,
    this is the most helpful information i have seen on the issue with the bison camera on asus computers. I am still waiting for information from ASUS. I have tried this mod to the registry and the information was added to the existing information but still it doesn't work. I am using XP so does the same apply or does the text have to be a bit different?
    Would appreciate any help.

    I am having the same problem with the windows update version of the bisoncam, NB Pro driver.... Im actually rather pissed that microsoft would release an update for the cam without testing it first... anyways it causes msn to freeze and causes windows vista home Premium to crash... sadly enough the only webcam driver i can find that works... isnt for microsoft its for linux and its the m560x bisoncam driver off source forge.  boots fine with slackware. I do hope microsoft actually reads these forums and corrects the driver they released in windows update. Its silly that my driver will work on slackware and not windows vista...  anyways I have a ASUS A6J laptop running windows vista home premium upgrade.

    Following are specs for my laptop's chipset... maybe some devloper will take pitty on all of us and code a new driver lol

    I have finally found a driver from ASUS for BisonCam that works for my A6Ja with Windows Vista 32.

    Here's how you can also do it:

    1. Download it from one of the following links:

    http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A3F/Camera_BS_Vista32_070313.zip

    http://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A3F/Camera_BS_Vista32_070313.zip

    http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A3F/Camera_BS_Vista32_070313.zip

    http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A3F/Camera_BS_Vista32_070313.zip

    http://dlsvr05.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A3F/Camera_BS_Vista32_070313.zip

    2. Unzip it to a folder

    3. Run setup from the unziped OV7660_965X folder

    4. Restart your computer

    5. DONE!!!! Smile

    Hope it helps

    Hi,

    Thank you, now my bisoncam works, but the picture is standing the wrong way round!

    Any idea?

    You can fix this issue in the following way:

    all you got to do is a Verticle Flip. It's on the Option ==> Video Capture Filter ==> Rotation

    Hello,

    I got the same problem. And if i try to set up my webcam at windows live messenger.. it crashes!

    I also tried to change those 0 -> 1.. but still it doesn't "work" (wrong way) right.

    Yours,
    Lysh.

    Hi,

    I was facing the same problem on various laptops (MSI, Sony, Acer) and I just found a "solution" by accident:

    I have UNINSTALLED SLD codec pack (that I always install on all my machines!) and after a reboot WLM just works fine with the webcam...

    Don't ask me why....

    Hope this helps

    Louis

    Try removing the driver then disabling the device then installing the driver again (with the device disabled) then enable the cam and it should install ok!

    Hi Cobra,

    problem solved. You just need to download the drivers and applications from:

    ftp://ftp.acer.pl/notebook/aspire_5100/vista/Drivers/

    ftp://ftp.acer.pl/notebook/aspire_5100/vista/Applications/

    After you install them your image will be mirrored, so I have solved this by MSN Live Messenger Cam Configurations -> Flip Image Horizontaly.

    Done, everything working just fican

    plz help me to download a software a photo for bison webcam for windows vista 32. TQ. U answers will be appreciated.
