Thanks!
Hot JCDP
Are you on Vista SP2 and facing this problem? Is windows defender service started on your system? Go to Contol Panel -> Administration Tools -> Services -> Windows Defender to check its status.
Thanks
Wasil- Hey Hotsteper
Seems to be a problem with the Dell Inspiron 1525 then, i too have the same problem with windows update
and also the new windows live messenger
weird huh? - JCDP,
1) What is OS and service pack installed on your machine?
2) Is it that it was running perfectly fine and after you installed and it broke Windows Update?
Thanks,
Sachin - Hi JCDP,
Dealing with windows update issues, one should identify if the problem is with checking and downloading or installing updates. However, disabling security software might not help all the time; go for a complete uninstall. Having uninstalled the security software, restart the computer and check if the updates are working fine. If it still isn't working fine, then confirm the stage at which the update process fails. Is that checking or downloading or installation?
Regards. - The best solution is to install windows mail with windows live messenger..... it has some files that are required by the messenger service....
hope this helps!
