    Hello, i hope you can help me with the following problem.

    I've been getting frequent BSOD's lately during game play. At first it started with the Rockstar game GTA IV, but know it happens with other games as well.
    After starting a game, sometimes almost immediately and sometimes after an hour or two of game play, my system would either freeze with a corrupted screen requiring a hard restart or i'd recieve a BSOD followed by an automatic restart.

    I looked through the c:\Windows folder and found a 361MB /yes megabyte/ MEMORY.DMP file, after some debugging, it seems to point out to an error in the dxgkrnl.sys, so i researched and found an apparent fix to this file, namely KB953026 fix which seems to address my exact problem.

    Now i'm almost certain this fix concerns me, so after Genuine Validation i downloaded the update, but i keep getting a popup> The update does not apply to your system , and it will not install, i went through all updates i have installed but this fix is not among them, so I DO NOT have it installed.

    How can i solve this problem with the KB953026 installation?? any advice would be appreciated! 

    My system:
    Vista home premium 64 bit + SP1 fully updated
    Processor: Intel C2D E8400 
    MB: Gigabyte EP45-DS3R bios F10
    Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB + Catalyst 8.12
    RAM: 2x2GB Kingston HyperX 800MHz

    Hey Ghassan76,

    First, make sure it is the right version for 64bit.  Based on your system information, the right version should be http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1F04BECE-B986-4DAE-AA76-A0487F474DE1


    If problem persists, please open %windir%\logs\CBS\CBS.log and find out what was logged for the installation of KB953026. If you get denied for open this log file, make a log to another location and open the copy.  Post what you got from the CBS.log and we will contiue from there try to resolve your issue.
