Cannot delete files - file name is too long
-
Wednesday, October 12, 2011 10:20 PMMy system lost its motherboard. I recoevered data from the hard drive and saved recovered files to my file server. I back up my server every week. When I had to delete some back up copies becasue of space, a few files cannot be deleted becasue their filepath is too long (18 to 20 subfolders down). Is there any way to delete them? I tried renaming and moving and cut & paste, etc. I was able to delete the recovery file on my server.

You can use alternative file manager Total Commander which supports very long file names. Just make sure to un-check Configuration > Options > Copy/Delete > Use Explorer delete method.
