    Windows Update will not run. Error message states: "This application failed to start because TAPI32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

    I have already run very good anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spyware programs/scans including Microsoft Security Scanner and Malwarebytes Anti-malware.

    I am unable to run sfc.exe

    I am ultimately trying to update to Windows XP Service Pack 3 on an older computer that has just has recently become servicable again. What do I do?
