Windows cant find my sil 3114 raid5, even though the driver seems to be working and the SI software finds it.

Hi
I finally gave in and installed Win 7 on my HTPC. Everything went except that Win 7 couldn't find my Sil 3114 raid5. After having tried several different drivers I gave up and installed XP again. Now XP cant find it either! The SIL software says that 1 drive is orphaned, but the 3 remaining ones are parity raided, which makes me believe that they are still intact. At the boot stage the card has all 4 drives in a raid5 configuration.
In the SI software menu there's a possibility to delete the orphaned drive Should I do it? The options to rebuild and bring on-line are not available. If I delete the orphaned drive, rebuild, would I then be able to bring the rebuilt raid on-line?
According to the device manager the card is working properly, but I still can neither see it nor import it in the disk management.
What should I do next?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
