we are inprocess of implementing SCCM and OSD deployment.

We are not there yet. and still a XP shop.

we used barts pe in past to auto build or ststrems with ghost.  including naming systems and determining formfactor etc.....

newer systems cannot be identified with previous tools.  we are using winpe 2.0 with WMI to determine environment data we need to do the builds/images.

problem is now that when we start winpe 2.0 we do not have network connections.  i've read, it is easy when switching from 1.6 to 2.0, but i must be dense.  cannot figure out how to get network started when wpeinit starts up.

The Windows Preinstallation is not designed for networking. This is more for OEMs making a setup for a fresh reinstall from a hidden partition on a machine.
