export data to excel or attach MAP toolkit DB

I would like to know if it is possible export data to MS Excel to filter for example how many Office 2003 I have in my company, but in general if there is a way to aggregate data to count installed software.
Maybe I could connect an MS SQL server to MAP toolkit DB and manage the data, but I don't know how, if there is some guide, or someone could help me. (I have already tryed but I don't see the map db)
