Went to Install the MAP toolkit on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 edition SP2
As part of the install it started installing sql server express but returned with the below message.
I tried setting up sql server express first, the collation order is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS and the instance is called MAPS but get the same error message.I can connect fine to ssms.
What could be causing this to fail?

Michael The latest version of MAP 6.5.4229.0
The sql install is the sql express install that comes as part of the Map install and it is on the same machine.
I am logged in as the same active directory user which is an administrator on the machine.
I haven't been able to start MAP, it is from the install that I am getting the error message
I did not use the "Run as.." option to install SQL or MAP.
I just ran the exe Microsoft_Assessment_and_Planning_Toolkit_Setup.exe.

One being a problem contacting the domain controller from the machine. Another seems to be related to local host entries in the etc/hosts file. I would check both of these.
