we run oracle on windows and I can return the following info:
server name instance name version number
but I still need to get more info like the Oracle Edition ex:standard, enterprise....for lisence purposes.
Does MAP have the ability to gather this info? do I need to install the oracle client and provide admin credentials?
Really appreciate your help in advance.

Once you have that, select Oracle from the inventory scenarios page of the inventory wizard and provide to proper credentials and you should see all of that informaton. As of 6.5, MAP can also discover Oracle on HP-UX.
