Possible Bug found in MAP 8.0. Not able to select Database if using 10 or more databases
-
Friday, January 18, 2013 5:44 PMIt appears I may have found a bug in MAP 8.0. I have a total of 14 databases that I'm working with. The first time I select a database from a fresh reboot I'm able to scroll through the entire list and select any of the 14. However, after selecting the first database and running some reports, when I go back to select another database I'm only able to scroll to about the 10th database in the list. The scroll bar completely disappears and if I use the arrow keys to scroll down I'm only able to get to about the 10th database and no further. Closing and re-opening MAP does not good. A reboot is the only work around. Is there a fix for this?

Are you using a full version installation of SQL or the SQL LocalDB that MAP installs? I'm researching if this is true, but I'm wondering if LocalDB has some sort of limitation because our devs typically have over 30 databases in their SQL instances for various testing scenarios and they aren't running into this issue.
Update: I was able to create 15 databases on my test machine running LocalDB and I was able to see all 15 no matter what I did, so it doesn't seem to be a localDB issue and something I'm not able to reproduce in our lab. If it is still happening to you consistently, contact us at mapfdbk@microsoft.com and we will try some debugging.
