Yeah... I get a similar message, as well as event id 100, event id 400, event id 401, event id 402, event id 407 and the rest. In spite of having a beautifully patched up Vista 32 bit running decent virus software, I find Microsoft haven't got a clue.

My system even tells me it's having trouble with my new Microsoft Mouse. More often than not when I search microsoft help websites and forums, it tells me my problem is related to exchange or media center (neither of which I run).

I'm not using any esoteric hardware or unusual software - all drivers are up to date.

I've lost many many days sorting out my PC.

Microsoft has had a lot of criticism. I can only conclude that we don't know the half of it and the company is in deep deep trouble.

My PC hangs once an hour and when I look in the event log and click Event Log Online Help it often leads to a screen telling me the following:

"Results for: Microsoft Product: Windows Operating System ; Version: 6.0.6000.16386 ; Event ID: 401 ; Event Source: Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance ;

This says everything about the mess they're in.

Yeah, seeing a lot of that too and like yourself the articles I am finding aren't very helpful at all. I use mainstreem hardware and software, a good anti virus (that has been run 5 times) and everything is up to date.
