MAP WMI status reports: Failed - other reasons
MAP WMI status reports: Failed - other reasons
- I get this error when using AD DS to inventory the servers. If I use a txt file with the server names and import that, everything works fine. I am logged onto the workstation with Domain Admin credentials.

Glad to hear that you were actually able to get some good results...
Do you need to get that other issue worked out?
Can you tell me what build number your running?
Thanks,
Eric
- I really would like to find out why it won't work via AD DS.
I am using version 4.0.2925.0
Thank you. - Take a look at the logs located C:\Program Files\Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator\bin\log If you are unable to see the issue quickly
please send them to mapfdbk@microsoft.com
-Eric - I'll be sending something soon. It takes a little bit of time to generate the reports. Thanks again.
I am experiencing the same exact issue 90% of my machines fail to connect via WMI even though I can use other WMI tools on them.
- this is the error I get for a server named 11-app-001:

Please make sure that you have completed all the steps outlined in the “Preparing Your Environment” section of the Getting Started Guide.
Let me know when these steps have been completed and then what the results are.
Thanks,
Eric
- I have followed those steps. The odd part is that it works if I enter the computers manually. If I do it has no problem inventorying them. If I do it via AD DS and Network Protocols, then it doesn't even seem able to resolve the Computer Name to IP address.
- I think we are going to have to take a better look at your logs...
please send them to mapfdbk@microsoft.com
Thanks,
Eric - Okay. I emailed them to you. Thanks again.
- Thanks. Looking at your logs now...
