    Hello,

I'm going to deploy 1000+ Windows 7 pro in a few weeks. I tested MDT2010 a few months ago and i plan to use MDT2012 with the database this time.

I just wonder if i should stick to WAIK or switch to ADK ? Do you have any advice or feedback ?

    Thanks you,

    FC

Sorry, I mean I only used MDT2010 for my Test lab not in production.

Now I don't know if i should go with ADK or WAIK for production.

    Hi,

WAIK is prerequisite for Microsoft Deployment Toolkit , hence go for WAIK.

No, you can use either ADK or WAIK with MDT2012 to deploy Windows 7.

See http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25175 "System requirements" and What's new page 4

Yannick, why would you use the WAIK over its successor, ADK ?

If you stick with MDT 2010 Update 1, use the WAIK 3.0, but definitely use the ADK if your going with MDT 2012 Update 1

Although WAIK is still supported witch MDT 2012 Update 1, I have trouble to connect to my DeploymentShare and I think it's WMI related.

Wasn't ADK RTM released after MDT 2012 Update 1 RTM?

Keeps me wondering if this is a good idea.
I don't see any deployment features we miss when we stick with AIK over ADK unless we are not deploying W8/Server2012.

Since you're stating that you want to use MDT2012, I would recommend to ADK.

There is no benefit for running WAIK over ADK when deploying Windows 7 for that matter, however the ADK will for example provide support for powershell inside WinPE. Just for that reason alone I'd suggest ADK over WAIK since it gives you additional scripting options during WinPE. Note: this is only version 3.0 of powershell though.

The ADK available at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30652 is not a beta or RC version, it's the rtm/final build so you're running a fully supported configuration.

    Kind regards,
