    Hello,

when doing a capture from windows 8 ..this will take a LONG time ( 45 minutes).

In the bdd.log these lines are added (and will cause the long time).

What to do to fix this?

You have already seen - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/mdt/thread/c2cb4056-43a9-4d9e-a5ca-e5427ecf910c

Have you checked on Michael's comments about RTM version of ADK?

Michael Niehaus - "Are you sure your deployment share has the latest ImageX and WIMGAPI files?  The extended attribute messages were present in beta versions of the ADK, but are no longer present in the final RTM version."

I'm not seeing these in my captures of Windows 8.  Which flavor are you guys capturing, are you using Windows Update / Packages to update the Image during Capture, and did you do anything to remove/modify/use any of the default .appx applications?

I am capturing Windows 8 Enterpise x64.  I am using MDT 2012 update 1 to build and capture with a "Suspend Task Sequence" step in which I run Windows Updates to get all application updates installed prior to capture.  I am not doing anything with any of the Windows 8 apps (Metro) as I found out quickly that updating those apps before running sysprep causes sysprep to fail.

Do you have the same issue if you don't do any Windows Updates (manually or otherwise)?  I do Windows Update just fine in my Capture, but I also run the script from Ben Hunter (http://blogs.technet.com/b/deploymentguys/archive/2012/10/26/removing-built-in-applications-from-windows-8.aspx) to remove all the .AppX default applications I don't want (which is pretty much all of them).

I haven't tried capturing without running Windows Updates honestly.  I haven't removed any apps yet either.  I may end up going back and doing so but figured I would leave them in the base image and can pull out the ones I don't want during OSD so if we decide we do indeed want an app i can just not remove it during deployment.  If that proves to be a challenge I'll take the core image removal stance. ;-)
