Is anyone else experiencing a missing Windows Update button when trying to add a printer after using MDT 2012 to image the system?
Not sure whether or not it is related to MDT 2012 yet.

Yes! Here I thought I was going crazy! I started to notice the missing Windows Update button by the printer the last couple of months and I had no idea where it went. It just occurred to me today when I deployed a non-domain machine it might have been my MDT update!

Turned out to be GPOPacks.

Care to elaborate?
I changed the customsettings.ini aka the rules to include the ApplyGPOPack to NO setting. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. I don't know how to fix this on machines that have already been deployed, though.

Local Security Settings and Local Group Policy are applied to Windows 7 PCs deployed by MDT 2012 by default. I believe if you check your local Group Policy under System/Internet Communication Management/Internet Communication settings, you'll find "Turn off Windows Update device driver searching" enabled. You can find out the rest of the changed by doing a GPResult /H from the command line.
