How long does your upload take?

Friday, December 07, 2012 8:50 PMHow long does it "normally" take to upload a base image of Windows 7 and all updates. No apps. Just the basic install. For some reason mine is taking about an hour. The size is about an 3.5 gigs. Currently it's at 2.9 Gigs with 25 minutes remaining.
I know this is a broad question but just for my curiosity. Our network is all gigabit.

I deploy a 18,3 GB Windows 7 x64 (+81GB wim files from OEM folders) in 1hr 10-20 minutes.
The client; HP Z400, 6GB ram, AF-hardisk. On a non AF disk add 20-30 minutes. The server (HP DL380 G6) is a 12 disk raid 5 with 10k disks. I don't remember the raid cache or card.

Saturday, December 08, 2012 12:47 PMAn hour is an OK number. I'd perhaps hope for a little faster, but it's nothing to worry about. Deploying is always much faster than capturing an image.

Saturday, December 08, 2012 10:50 PMI figured it out. It was the VM I was using. I increased the ram to 3 gigs and its much faster. Thanks everyone. I am having an issue with my capture though ( I am aware this is off subject). When I sysprep and capture the new image with some apps (java, flash, ccleaner, google earth, pdf xchange and I created a new admin) no errors no warnings are given, but when I deploy it to a new VM the administrator account is disabled and some of the settings are lost. Everything is default (CS and Bootstrap).
It's very strange everything was working just find until Thursday and it went to h3ll and a hand basket. I removed WDS and MDT 2012 still happening :( it's driving me crazy.
