    Hi,

i have a weird error with MDT2012 during a W7 SP1 x64 (full update) install, after hardware detection. I use WDS with x86 PXE on W2008R2.

"Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file [C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] for pass [specialize]. A component or setting specified in the answer file does not exist."

My sysprep & image capture is fine, without any error. I just want to deploy my production computer.

    I'm totally lost !!

    Thanks you,

    Francois

First, be sure to edit out your Admin credentials when posting to the forums. Based on the information above, anyone can come along and see your local admin password. Second, on the deployment TS itself, go to "OS Info" and select "Edit Unattend.xml." When WSIM loads, check to make sure the file is crafted correctly. (Check mark at the top validate the appropriateness of the file.)

Do you set any settings in the customsettings.ini? Your unattend file will be updated with information from customsettings.ini.

I'm really surprised of this error because a few months ago i did the same setup and everything went fine.

I'll check if Windows Update installed IE10, it seems there are some problems with sysprep.
