I'm sure I'm missing something but I have installed MDT 2012 Update 1, the latest WAIK with the Supplement,  and the only OS in my deployment share is Windows 7 SP1 but for some reason the WinPE image is still 3.0 (confirmed by registry from within the PE image).  When creating the boot media and watching the status,  it is def pulling the boot.wim from the Win7 SP1 folder is this correct?

I may even be hitting this the wrong way...  we recently had a new model desktop arrive with Advanced Format drives in it.  After trying to deploy with the current setup I was getting the error "Windows setup could not configure Windows to run on this computers hardware" - after a brief Google it seemed the the AF Drives were to blame and upgrading to WinPE 3.1 would solve the issue!

The spanner is that it is also in RAID 1, though this does not seem to be the problem as the drive is recognised and the copy / installation phase of setup completes fine,  only the configuration phase has the problem as above.

    So two part question:

    1. Is this the correct way to implement WinPE 3.1?

    2. Will this solve the AF HDD issues we are having?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Ok, seems I'm just an idiot and missed a step somewhere.  I took it back to square one and regenerated the boot images,  updated WDS and the WinPE version is now 3.1.

However this didn't solve the "Windows setup could not configure Windows to run on this computers hardware" problem unfortunately.  I might log another question for that as it seems the WinPE image was unrelated.

even though you closed the question it might be handy to remove WAIK and start using ADK.

and it might be that you missed some raid drivers.
