Can you anyone help to understand the difference between WAIK and Windows ADK,

Is Windows ADK the next version of WAIK?

Yes, the ADK is the new version. It's a requirement for installing Windows 8 with MDT/SCCM

ADK includes PE 4.0, AIK only 3.0 (update to 3.1 is available)

One of the PE 4.0 key features is the out of the box USB 3.0 support.
