we will need some more information that this to be able to help you.

check your applications logfile to see if you can discern where it goes wrong  logs are found at C:\MININT\SMSOSD\OSDLOGS or C:\windows\temp\deploymentlogs.

Also which version of live essentials are you trying to deploy?

    how are you deploying essentials?

    Hi,

I have the log file, and I am not able to find any thing. I have the latest version Win Live Ess 2012, we have to install messenger, movie maker and wlsync, I use a silent command line (please see below)

    \\Servername\Sources\wlsetup-all.exe /AppSelect:messenger,wlsync,MovieMaker /NOTOOLBARCEIP /NOSEARCH /NOHOMEPAGE /NOCEIP /NOMU /SILENT

I am deploying using MDT 2010, from the task sequence

    Thanks,

Are you installing this as an application or just using a command line?

I would expect an app to be under "\\server\applications\Windows Live Essentials 2012\wlsetup-all.exe"

Which log file are you looking in? ZTIApplications.log? Can you post relevant parts of it for others to see as there may be something you are missing?

Does it work if you manually install it (I mean install from the command line using EXACTLY the same switches - just outside of MDT. Does the file definitely still exist? If it "suddenly" stopped working, then ask yourself what may have changed? Has anyone modified the task sequence, added or removed any apps, deleted any source files etc.

Without logs there is little to nothing that people can do to help as "why didnt application x" install covers hundreds of potential reasons.

    HI,

This is the error message I am getting, I don't have ZTIApplication log file in the location.

the changes I made recently in MDT is, added few drivers for a different model and updated the share.

    Plz help.

    Thanks,

    SNRRK

that really doesn't say much it only says that there was a unknown error while installing.

check if the installation files are still at the right place and try to install essentials without mdt first to see if you silent installation command works.

or just delete the whole application in MDT and then add it back.

you should always have a log file at either C:\MININT\SMSOSD\OSDLOGS during deployments

or at C:\windows\temp\deploymentlogs when the deployment has finished finding that log file really helps you troubleshoot.

Use Windows Search to find the logs if necessary, they will be there and they will hold the answer :)

The "Salmon pink screen of death" is only useful up to a point.
