Workstation information - MDT2012

We are just starting down the MDT 2012 path for our imaging. Currently using GHOST, so it's time for an upgrade.
I was curious if it is possible to create a 'task sequence' that can record a copy of the workstation name and static IP information (we use these is our student lab environment) apply the new 'fresh' image then re-appy the workstation name and IP address and have it re-join the domain. Trying to get this to work without to much user intervention.

I believe if you run the litetouch wizard from within the current operating system both will be re-used for the new OS.
I've never tried to get the network configuration of an offline Windows image, not even sure it's possible? So I don't know how to do this if you're planning on starting from WinPE and then deploy the OS from there.
Kind regards,

Stephan,
We used the adv configuration using SQL Express. Allowed us to define all our workstations in the database. Able to retain (hostname, IP info, etc...)
Thanx
