Hi,
Welcome to our forum. Unfortunately, we don't keep an archive of past versions of Network Monitor. We have always recommended that people use the latest version we keep on Microsoft Downloads; the current version is 3.4.
I'm surprised that they would require a down-level version, if you could point me to your material on the web and a contact for the course; I'd be happy to reach out to them to discuss the matter.
Thanks,

Thank you for the quick response. This unfortunately isn't necessarily an instructor requirement as much as it is a lab/course requirement outline directly by Microsoft. You see the 70-642 ciriculum from Microsoft specifically mentions Network Monitor 3.1 and relies on that particular interface to guide you through the appropriate sections. The book even goes as far as to tell you to download it from the Web.
I did try to utilize NM 3.4 however the interface has apparently changed since NM 3.1 and the steps outlined in our Microsoft course no longer correlate appropriately with the newer application.I will continue to try and find the old version. Thanks again for the follow up.
FYI - For your information this is the course I am taking...

Hello again,
I'd be very hesitent to download a copy of 3.1 from anywhere as it would not be an official source.
I'm trying to follow-up with the Microsoft Learning group to discuss getting the course content updated.
In the meantime I'm happy to try and help you navigate between 3.1 and 3.4. What are they mentioning that you can't find in the new version of the tool? Everything should be there, it might just have moved, as we have only added features and fixed bugs in each subsequent release.
Thanks,

Thanks for following up with the Microsoft Learning group - that is a great step in the right direction. I'm working with my instructor to see how he wished to proceed. If I'm instructed to move forward with NM 3.4 and I'm unable to get things figured out I'll let you know here what my questions are.
In case you have access to the labs for this course, the section in question is Exercise 8.3 = pages 116 through 118.

Hello again,
This is the response I received from Microsoft Learning:
The official MS Press Training Kit release for the 70-642 exam is this one http://www.amazon.com/MCTS-Self-Paced-Training-Exam-70-642/dp/0735651604/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1319776449&sr=1-1 It has been updated recently to include Windows Server 2008 R2 content and I would imagine all the latest product versions would be called out and covered in it, including Network Monitor.
The official moc course, the 5 day course classroom ILT, was updated in June 2011 from 6421A to 6421B, as per the press title, to update to WS08 R2 and the opportunity was taken to update the content to Network Monitor 3.4. For the moc course, its also pre-installed in the lab virtual machines so there should be no need to download anything.
Thanks,
