Lync Mobility Client bug in Android

I currently have the Android client working for Lync. Everything works except calling internally. We use extensions here for alot of people on Lync, and while the iPhone client pulls down the extension information and can make calls perfectly, the Android clients only pulls down the 10 digit number.
+1(111)111-1111 x7248 (on iPhone)
+1(111)111-1111 (on Android)
anyway to allow android to do that.

Hi,Panlion,
I would like to verify with you on your question, please correct me if I misunderstand it
You have maintained the phone number as +1(111)111-1111 x7248 on your AD attributes, after you add the contact the number will show +1(111)111-1111 x7248 on your iPhone and you can make call to the user, but the number is showed +1(111)111-1111 without extension on your Android client and you can not make a call to the extension 7248 on it,right?

Correct. Also, If a User Does not have work number populated, call to that user from Androids phone works fine.

Hi,there,
Sorry for the late due to not noticed it.
I don't think it's Lync mobile App issue but the android device,as I know Android device doesn't support auto dial externsion unless you use "," or "P" between the main number and extension signifies a timed pause, would you please verify that if the number with extension along with "X" in local contact list on the Android mobile works? Also please try to change the "X"before the extension to "," instead to see if it works.
Hope this does the trick.

Monday, March 26, 2012 6:19 PMNo, that wasn't the problem. Here's some additional info that may help. If I changed the AD setting for the phone number to be extension only, it seems to work since I have a dialing plan for 4 digit extension only. Also, if the users has no number, it also works. I'm assuming that instead of dialing extention, it just does a Lync call. This is actually getting more confusing.

I'm seeing a similar issue on Android clients now that I've started to add non-DID extensions (the DID numbers all work well). If I go into the Android Lync client and look up a user that has a non-DID extension (ex: +14251111000;ext=1111) it comes through on the Lync client with some added numbers where the ";ext=" should be (this is all within Lync for things like Call As Work, etc). So, using my example above, when I search on the user I get the phone number +142511110003981111 which obviously fails if I just hit call. If I go to the keypad and just enter 1111 for example, it connects me through just fine. On the normal Lync client and the iPhone|WinMo clients those numbers look right and work correctly. So, it clearly looks like there is a bug in the Android client for users who have their work numbers in the non-DID extension format ( +14251111000;ext=1111).

Thursday, November 29, 2012 10:16 AMIs this going to be fixed by Microsoft for Android app?
Three quarters wasn't enough time for MS developers?
