Hi
I would like to create pre-defined location on server for users in my company depending on subnet address. We just use Lync server with IM and presence role. We are outside US so we don't need 911 features. What polices do I need to deploy ? I would like that client automaticly update defined location with no user help. I mean user doesn't have to choose it from a list.

Hi Adam,
The primary use of Location Information Service is for E9-1-1 emergency service in the United States.
It can be used without implementing E911, to display location as part of a user's presence information.
However, if you’re outside the USA, you can’t validate your address against a MSAG provider. So your location will not be automatically set. Here is another post for reference. Hope helps.

Hi,
you can configure the Location Service internal, so that the Location will be set depend on the subnet the user is connected.
Here is a good link for configuration LIS

Hi,
I have one more question. I create location by set-cslissubnet then publish them. On main window under the login in Lync location works fine. But when I marks someone on contact list and look on his contact card in filed location I get only info about Time zone not location. Is it normal behavior ?
