A few a few users that are not able to see presence status through outlook. They can see presence status within Lync but not within Outlook. I can see their presence status, they just can't see others presence status. We have uninstalled lync and outlook and reinstalled and no change. I assume there is perhaps a cache or some file that controls this function that is corrupt but I'm unsure of its location. Any help here would be nice.

    Thanks

So they are not seeing the presence icons at all in Outlook?  or are they there, but just grayed out?

What version of Outlook and are you on the latest SP/hotfix level?  Same question for Lync client.

They don't even see a space for the presence icon to be there. They are running outlook 2010. Same version as myself and mine works.

These issues occur when one or more of the following conditions are true:

    1. You are not signed into the Office Communicator client or Lync.
Note Communicator Web Access (CWA) does not provide integrated presence in Outlook.
    2. Your Outlook settings are not configured to display presence in Outlook.
    3. Your mail profile is not configured to use the SMTP that matches the SIPURI information that used to sign into Office Communicator or Lync.
    4. Microsoft Office or Outlook may have corrupted or outdated DLL files.
    5. The Microsoft Exchange Free/Busy service is unavailable.

And you’ll find the resolution from KB2000886. Hope helps.
