Users in my Lync contact list are being displayed using their Active Directory configured display name exept when they also exist in my Outlook contacts. Then the 'Full Name' in my Outlook contact is being displayed.

Is it possible to disable this behavior? I always want Lync to display the display name configured in the AD, regardless of what's in the personal contacts.

    Thanks

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

You can use –ExcludedContactFolders parameter of New-CsClientPolicy to exclude the Contacts folder of Outlook.

    Please see this article: http://howdouc.blogspot.com/2012/03/blocking-lync-from-searching-outlook.html

NOTE: This functionality requires the latest Lync client hotfix, KB 2670326

    Hi Jack,

Thanks so much for the prompt response.  This worked perfectly once the Lync hotfix was installed.

Jack - this hotfix was not available for me to approve to approve on my WSUS server even though I have the Lync Client Product selected and for Classifications: Critical Updates, Security Updates, Update Rollups and Updates, so I had to install it manually.

What Classification has it been released as in Windows Update?

    Thanks

It's good to hear the fix helped you. For the classification in WSUS, I really can't tell you more. If you have any problem about WSUS, you can post on here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/winserverwsus/threads
