    Hi Folks

We need to change the port number that Lync users to communicate with Exchange UM from 5061 (TLS) to 5060 (TCP).

We have tried editing the exumrouting config file found in the server\core directory but this doesn't appear to make any difference at all and we still see connection failures because Lync is trying to connect on port 5061.

Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

    TIA

    Adam

    Hi Adam,

You can configure the TCP port that's used to listen for SIP requests on a Unified Messaging (UM) IP gateway. You can configure the TCP SIP listening port number using the Set-UMIPGateway cmdlet. Provide this document for reference, hope helps.

    Hi

Thanks for your response however that wasn't exactly what I was asking. I was asking how you change the port that exum communicates with Lync not essentially the other way around. We ended up setting up authentication as dual so we didn't need to make the change.

    Hello,

Can you please advise how to set the authentication as dual? Is this the SIP authentication?

    Thanks,

There's no SIP authentication on the Exchange UM server. Perhaps original poster just changed UM startup mode to dual, which enables UM server to accept both, SIP/TCP and SIP/TLS communication
