    Hi,

    How can I assign multiple line URIs to a user same extension (:ext:100) ?so I can route calls for multiple line URIs to the same user?

    till now i have not seen any option in Microsoft lync which allows to assign multiple extensions to a single user. What you can do is to create multiple users with test names and forward those calls directly to the desired user. There is no need to keep sign in those test users, you just have to sign in one time make the forwarding settings to be forwarded to desired user and thats it.

    Hi,

     

    A lync endpoint has one line URI. We cannot assign multiple line URIs to a user. As a workaround, you can set private line to get secondary number.

    Hi,systemselo,

    Unfortunately you can only have on Line URI and a private line for one single user as they said,however the private line doesn't mean assign a second line or sip address to the users and it works only on inbound call.You can not use it to make outbound call.Details you can check Dustin Hunnifin's blog.

    However,you can use call forwarding or delegation to make calls route differently to the destinated user.

    good question, with a good point. Since thiat cannot be done,  w/ the current economy with corporate downsizing,
    IT Depts want to completely delete the pink-slipped user from AD and Lync but want all those calls from the uri/Direct#/Extension to go to the user who has
    taken the previous employees responsibilities over..    For example... Employee "John Doe" has his position removed from the
    corporate structure. "John Doe's" manager now has to take all calls on his/her phone from John Doe's DiD/uri/extension permanently.

    What is the best way to accomplish this while being able to completely remove "John Doe" from AD/Exchange/Lync/etc.. ?

    Just revoke the cert and forward the uri to the manager's sip acct.?

    Hi,

    to achieve the above following can be achieved

    if john Doe's account needs to be revoked then you can use unassigned numbers to transfer to the boos

    another option is to not delete that user from AD and Lync change the password configure forward calls to the boos

    For more details for the unassigned numbers For transferring calls to a phone number, type SIPAddress in the format sip:number@domainname;user=phone (for example, sip:+ 14255550121@contoso.com;user=phone).

    We can also create several Response Groups for several DIDs and add the User to these Response Groups.
