Cannot send mails
- Outlook 2010 doesn't send mails via SMTP-Server.
The account is imported from Outlook 2007.
Error: Task 'XXX - Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'Outlook data file cannot be accessed.'
Receiving and reading mails works fine. Also another account (Exchange Server) also sends mails.

- Can't anyone help me??
- Hi mate,
I had the same problem some time back, when I first installed Office 2010.
MS have changed the default port that SMTP uses from 25 to 587 (I think). So in the account change the settings to port 25 in the SMTP connector. If you are not too sure how to do that, let me know by replying to this forum, and I will try put some more details!! :)
Cheers,

- Hi Mike,
thanks for your hint. But this wasn't the problem. I imported my settings from Outlook 2007. And however it didn't "like" the old data file.
But now I solved the problem: I deleted the old data files and started with new account. Now everything works fine.
(Bad english... But I hope you can understand.)
Florian Mueller - Would love to get more detail from you on how to change this setting. I also have this problem, created a new "account" (which worked fine for a while), but then the problem popped up again.
Thanks.
- Mark Hi Mark,
Try export your e-mails etc to another PST file. Delete your current account (perhaps even delete the profile) and start again.
Good luck!! :)

- Hi all,
Earlier I encountered the same problem and I solved it with the solution WhatEver als gave (September, 2nd).
Hope this will work for everyone now. So, just go to account properties and verify the correct SMTP settings (and if SSL is enabled).
Enjoy the ride with Office 2010!
