Transferring Office 2007 from dying desktop to new desktop

I need to transfer Office Home and Student 2007 from my dying (read: getting unreliable) desktop to a new desktop once it arrives this week.
The new desktop comes with the Starter version of Office 2010, but I prefer the feel of 2007.
In reading this forum I’ve come to understand that I’ll need to uninstall the 2010 Starter software from my new desktop before loading Office Home and Student 2007, but I’ve got a few questions that I expect you can answer definitively.
First, its salient that I do have the product key code (that came with the software when I originally purchased it)… unfortunately, I didn't buy a physical Home and Student CD or DVD back then so I don’t have a 2007 disc to slide into my new desktop.
Surfing around, I found the following link that appears to still offer Office Home and Student 2007 downloads: http://www.microsoft.com/office/downloads. Since this is a Microsoft website, software downloaded from it ought to be legitimate, right?
Also, I’d like to know if uninstalling Office Home and Student 2007 from my old desktop should be done before or after I use the website to download Office Home and Student 2007 onto my new desktop… if I should uninstall Office Home and Student 2007 from my old desktop after downloading the software to the new desktop, should my old desktop have Office uninstalled before I input my product key code into my new desktop?
My goal is to remain compliant to my Office Home and Student 2007 license agreement.

doesn't matter

to avoid potential license breach, yes.
depending on which product edition/channel you purchased, you may, or may not, have use-rights to "move" your purchase to another computer. if not, this will likely be enforced when you try to activate on the new computer.
PKC purchases (single user+single machine) typically can't be moved.
FPP purchases (sometimes 2, sometimes 3 machines) can typically be moved.http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/buy/compare-your-purchase-options-FX102753654.aspx
