    Greetings,

    Is there a way via GPO or Reg Key to protect the details tab from being changed? I do not want users to be able to clear their information in the Authors field in the details tab of word, excel files under the properties of that file. Currently users can click on "Remove Properties and Personal Information" to clear this information.

    Hi Robb,

    We can protect the information via change the Registry Key.

    Open the Registry Editor, following

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer

    to find “NoFileAssociate”, change the value to 1. “1” means the users cannot change the file properties, “0” means users can change the properties.  Then save and restart the computer.
