I am using Publisher 2010 and when I try and open a document it shows the thumbnail on the left side, but only shows what ever was on my screen before in the actual document editing area.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling publisher and it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

    Please help!

    Thanks!

    Hello,

It seems to be a displaying issue on the editing pane. First, I suggest you check if the issue only occurs on the specific document, you can create a new pub file to check the result.

If publisher works fine with new created file, let’s try to start Publisher in safe mode with command line: mspub.exe /safe, then open the exsiting pub file by File > Open and locate the file path.

You may also check options in the View tab on the ribbon bars, click Switch Windows and check if the current pub file is the only one you opened.

Thank You. I have tried opening other documents and creating a new document and it does the same thing. I also have tried to play with the view and it doesn't help either.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks, Jen

Have you tried Publisher safe mode by start with mspub.exe /safe? Or you can start it by pressing CTRL while you start the Publisher. After that, open existing file from File > Open.

I did try that as well and still nothing. :( Normally I would think it was just the computer being funny, but it has done this on two of our office computers now and I can't fix it.
