Sorry, the screenshot isn't clear enough to see what is says. A few words explaining the problem would be very helpful.
There are issues with gmail imap where it pops up an error message every now and again - i only see it on one outlook 2013 install but I know of at least a handful of people having the same problem.

Have you restarted outlook? What antivirus do you use?
Does it stall if you use Safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

If you are using Gmail IMAP, you may get sync log from Folders > Sync Issue (this computer) Folder.

Press Ctrl+6 to jump to the folder list - you'll see the sync issues folder there.
How much mail do you have in Gmail to sync and how long has it been? It can take some time for Outlook to sync it all down, especially when the mailbox is large. Gmail has a setting (in their account settings online) where you can control how much gets synced - like 1000 newest. Outlook 2013 has a similar setting for IMAP (and Exchange server) accounts - go to File, Account Settings, double click on the imap account - there is a setting for how much mail to keep offline.
AVG is one of the antiviruses that do not play well with Outlook. Try disabling email scanning in AVG, also, if the AVG addin is enabled in Outlook, disable it. File, Options, Addins to check.
Also, keep in mind that Office 2013 is still a beta product and things may be slower or not work as expected. You should not use it "in production", i.e. on your main computer. Also, we do not need to see a screenshot of everything. While it occasionally helps, sometimes it just makes it harder to follow the comments.

I get persistent authentication prompts when running GMAIL via IMAP in Outlook 2013 from the moment i installed it.
My password is correct - i get my email after i cancel through the two errors. - i ok the error code and i OK the authentication prompt box.
Passwords are not the issue here, something else is.
See screenshot attached.
AVG 2012 Free
Win 7 64 fully patched

Sunday, August 12, 2012 4:26 PMI understand we're in Preview mode with Outlook 2013; is there anything i can look at in extended logging on this - or is it an IMAP trigger that i can't see any logic for? thanks

It's fairly widespread problem and i opened a bug report on it. Someone said it helped to set a pst as the default but I get the same error and i have an exchange account as default, so its not a cure-all if it works at all.

As an FYI, this is fixed in later builds. We probably won't see it before RTM. The problem is that Outlook tries to open a lot of connections and gmail limits the # of connections.
I went into Send and Receive settings (Ctrl+Alt+S) and Edited the SR group, deselecting the gmail account. This eliminated the error message.

Thursday, September 27, 2012 4:38 PMBy deselecting the gmail account, do you have to set up another Send and Receive group with just the gmail account? Otherwise how do you check gmail?

The folder will sync when you open it. I didn't try it in a send receive group of its own, so i don't know how well that will work.

I've been seeing this problem as well on the RTM version.
In the sync issues folder I've been seeing errors: [8004010F-0-0-720] & [800CCC0F-0-0-560]
In my Inbox, I was seeing a random selection of emails - probably the oldest of them, as I could see nothing recent.
picking up on Diane's comment about the number of connections, I looked at the IMAP subscriptions and unsubscribed from [Gmail]/All Mail. This is a massive folder (3-4GB for me) and I think it was triggering some sort of timeout.
Immediate result was that my Inbox is now syncing OK.
To get to the IMAP subscriptions, right click on your Inbox, select IMAP Folders. On the resulting window, click Query and you should get a list of all your IMAP folders. You can then select the folders you want to unsubscribe from.
I won't go into why Google keep every email I've ever received or sent, including all the spam and anything I've deleted. I'm sure it's in the small print somewhere, still doesn't feel right though.

By default, the server timeout time is set to 1 minute.
Here, you can clearly see that exactly one minutes has passed.
Try to extend the timeout time.

I've been working with this issue a little bit now, using the Outlook 2013 RTM (via MSDN). If I have a new message, it will show up in the web and in Outlook as expected. However, if I move it to a folder in a .pst file, it will not be removed from the Inbox on the server (which really screws up other devices accessing the account). If I delete the file from the Outlook inbox, it will delete from the server as expected. So is Outlook not processing the IMAP requests to delete the message from the server when it is moved somewhere else? I'm not sure. I've been digging around in any settings or filters I can find, and unfortunately Outlook 2013 has removed (or hidden) several "advanced" folder options for IMAP accounts that existed in Outlook 2010. This was never an issue in Outlook 2010.
Another thing to note, is when I read an e-mail message on the web or on another device, it will not show as read in Outlook. And, once that happens, even deleting the message does nothing, so it is as though the relationship between Outlook's copy and the server copy breaks; the only thing that seems to work properly is getting new messages and straight-up deleting them. (This defeats the purpose of having IMAP set up, in my opinion.)
I also checked the Sync Issues folder and found no errors. I'm using Norton Antivirus, but some of the scanning it does seems to have little effect on IMAP accounts, so I don't think it is interfering with this at all.
Not sure if this is relevant, but it would also seem that Outlook has difficulty maintaining a relationship with other IMAP folders that are not on Gmail as well. However, those problems are far less present than its interaction with my Gmail account.

I have 3 imap accounts on 3 different server and I'll try to repro and see what i can find out - it sounds like it's copying messages to pst files, not moving them.
I haven't noticed the reading problem but i have noticed outlook is really slow at updating the server when i delete messages in outlook. I'm wondering if it's really slow to sync changes from the server...
