What do I need to adjust the resolution of the web camera stream in LM? Currently I use a Logitec S5500 webcam with the latest sw, but no possibility to set up resolution.

Several issues today with Live Meeting and wondering if MS was having problems with the Live Meeting servers?

* At 2:00 EST we were hosting a Live Meeting and several users were not able to connect. We kept getting "Page not found" errors when connecting directly to the URL

* Also earlier today, a user was trying to schedule a Live Meeting and was receiving the following error when sending out invitations: "An error occurred while processing this Live Meeting request. If this error persists, please contact your Live Meeting account administrator."

cannot install livemeeting 2007 console

Hi. I am trying to install livemeeting 2007 console (lmsetup.exe) on Windows 7. I have installed MicroSoft office which appears to work, but when I try to install lmsetup.exe it says installation incomplete, please restart the install, etc., but when I do this I get the same results. Setting up a Live Meeting on behalf of someone else

Is it possible to set up a Live Meeting on behalf of somebody else? We have tested it between two users in our environment and doesn't seem possible even with permission to the person's Calendar. The scenario is where a secretary books a meeting with attendees on behalf of his/her manager.

Recording audio via a call bridge (not working)

Hello,

I'm trying to record audio from a bridge number that we subscribe to. i have setup the meeting options to include the participant code and I have done the 'record to service' configuration before recording.

It seems to be working fine but when I check the recording afterward there is still no audio and I have no way of knowing if LM has even successfully connected to the bridge number. Does anyone know how I can confirm that a connection was made? or have any suggestion on what to try next?

Live Meeting Time Zone

Hi,

I found a big problem with live meeting API.
Actually if I compare Live Meeting with WEBEX (Cisco Product), Then I am totally confused about one section and that is "TIME ZONE" API.

My problem is, if I want to create any meeting according to the "PST" time zone and for the date of December 14th 2009 on 10:00 AM, then the meeting has been successfully created, but the problem is, at the live meeting the meeting starting time will automatically change from 10:00 Am to 09:00 Am, but this problem is not occurred with the "WEBEX".

Audio Disconnection Problem

I'm attempting to use PC audio for the first time in Live meeting. The meeting has been set up to allow 2 way audio.
I enter the meeting as a Presenter and click Voice and Video then select Join Audio.
The audio connection is made and lasts about 5 seconds before I am disconnected.
Tested several times and tested on multiple machines (linked to the same meeting)

"Joint the Meeting" link missing while opening from Calendar event

Hi

I am using Outlook 2003 and Live Meeting 2007. I am able to accept the Live Meeting invitation sent from my colleague.
After that when I went to calendar items and open the event, the "Join the Meeting" link is missing in the mail.Instead of the link, it has some unknown characters.All the other links are showing correctly in the mail.I am able to open other weblinks from outlook.Please assist.

How to set "Invite Anyone" as the default choice in a new meeting invitation?

Live Meeting is working well for us so far, but users are extremely frustrated that they have click on "Permissions" to set "invite anyone" manually for each meeting in order to include external users. The default right now is "invite within network". Is there any way to change this so that the default choice is "invite anyone"?

I'm trying to understand the use of this function. I'm assuming that a Meeting Lobby URL may be provided as a 'public' link to a meeting, say from a company website. Alternatively those email issued for a Live meeting to an individual qualifies as an Invitation. The User Guide mentions a Meeting Lobby URL. Where/How do I locate the Meeting lobby URL in the MS Live Meeting application when setting up a meeting?

Using multiple Cams into one PC with live Meeting

My situation is my client has a boardroom layout from which they use live meeting to video conference. The Webcams are insufficient to capture the entire group of people attending and the resolution used for their meeting does not allow for the necessary resolution to provide a quality picture of the individuals for the far end in such a wide shot. There has been a discussion about using multiple USB cams to auto-switch via mic trigger and capture the speaking members In a closer medium shot.   But what I know about USB is the computer will want to re-negotiate when the cams are switched delaying the video and breaking up the conference. If I am incorrect in my assumption please explain.

My current solution path is to use cams with a component video (or similar) output and seemlessy switch the cams in component video then send the component swicher's output to a capture device that emulates a webcam (atleast as far as Live meeting is concerned). Problem is I do not have access to capture devices to experiment with this arrangement;

1. has anyone connected a standard video cam to live meeting? What interface did you use and what was the video input (S, Composite, component).

2. Can I switch USB webcams with less than 2 seconds of break in the video.

Note: The switcher needs to interface with an AMX control system which will actuate both manual and automatic camera switches triggered by a Biamp processor. At this time we need a minimum of 6 cameras.

Client has roundtable in another conference room but does not want to use roundtable in this application.

Live Meeting 2007 user get blank screen when connected

User can successfully join live meeting 2007 and see the list of participants but cannot view the presentation. (PC running XP SP3). User gets blank screen. Other users in the same office have no problem. Popup blocker is Off.

Live Meeting Event Confirmation Number

Hello,

Question about the Confirmation Number on LM Events. I need to know if there is a way to disable the requirement to enter a Confirmation Number when someone registers for an Event- that was created using the Live Meeting Manager (from Organizer Interface).

When people register for Live Meeting Events, they receive a confirmation number that is used to login into the meetings and then take tests or surveys associated with that event. I would like to be able to use the surveys and tests outside of the event- for people who did not register for the event but still want to take the tests/surveys. At the moment this is not possible because it asks for a confirmation number and if someone has not registered for the event, they will not be able to take the tests/surveys. Is the "Confirmation Number" requirement

something that can be turned off on the Conference Center?

Here are my goals..

1. I want to send out a weekly email which says "Click this link to register for our weekly Livemeeting."
2. There should be a page which has "Registration for <date, time>. Enter in First, Last, Email, Phone"
3. Users get a confirmation email
4. Some users will attend; others will not.
5. I would like a report of WHO attended and who DID NOT attend.

Is this possible? If so.. how?

PS: I'm a paying Livemeeting 2007 owner.

I have a user that whenever she is presenting a meeting in LM, and allows an offshore user to share there Desktop (or application) the offshore user freezes up. the machine are running Windows XP with a minumum of SP2 and 2GB a ram. Both are using the client download, not the web-based version. the user is made a presenter before the desktop (or aplicaton) is shared.

When trying to Reschedule or Cancel a meeting from within Outlook get Error

Sometimes when we try to Cancel or Reschedule a meeting we get the following error: "this item has changed and can't be deleted". The meeting will appear in both the old and new locations when rescheduling or just not disappear when cancelled.

The work around is to manually delete the current meeting and create a new one in the new time slot. This is annoying when lots of invitees are affected as they all have to manually delete the old meeting and then accept the new one.

I can not find any reference to this issue and am not sure if it is the Conferencing Add-in, the Live Meeting Transport, or a failure of the Exchange Server.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

"Allow Organizers to grant permission to download recording" Function

In the Adminstrator console, there is an option under Roles and Policies…Meeting Policies to “Allow Organizers to grant permission to download recording”

Can you explain how this option works? Based on the verbiage, one would think that disabling this would still allow the Organizer to download the recording but not grant permission to others to download. However, if you unckeck this option, no one, not even the Organizer or Adminstrator can download their recordings.

To best control proprietary information, Customers want the ability to allow only the Organizer/Administrator to download recordings but not anyone else. By unchecking this feature, the download option becomes disabled for everyone.

Please clarify if this is by design or if this is a bug. If by design, is there a way to reword this option to acknolwedge this enables the download function and not just the ability to allow others to download?

Can't change the language of my Live Meeting invitations

I'm using the Dutch version of Live Meeting and sometimes I want to send my invitations in Dutch, but mostly in English. I noticed I can set the language of a meeting in the meeting options, but even though I select English there, the invitation text is always in Dutch. I use the option to send the invitations using my email client.

The weird thing is that if I use the Outlook Add-In to create a Live Meeting, I do get the invitation text in English. But I don't always have access to my PC when setting up meetings or inviting additional people. Switching languages in the Outlook Add-In does work.

Does anybody know how to set the invitation language using the Live Meeting web site to send invitations?

Update to 250 attendees for Live Meeting Standard licenses does not update default meeting size

Microsoft is updating Live Meeting Standard licenses to support meetings for up to 250 participants. Previously, the Standard license for Live Meeting has allowed an organizer to schedule and host meetings for up to 15 participants. Following this update, Organizers for Live Meeting with Standard licenses will be able to schedule and host meetings for up to 250 participants, however the default meeting settings for the conference center or for Organizers will not automatically be updated.

Administrators can update the default meeting size to up to 250 for the conference center using the following the steps:

1. On the My Home page, in the Administer section, click Account.

2. On the Account Administration Home page, click Account Preferences.

3. In the Administer section of the left pane, click Default Preferences.

4. On the Default Preferences page, in the Meeting Size text box, update the default number of concurrent network connections to the Live Meeting conference center to a number up to 250.

This updated setting will apply to any new users created after this change.

Organizers can update their default meeting size to up to 250 for MeetNow meetings using the following steps:

1. In your Internet browser, enter the URL of the Live Meeting conference center. Enter your user login and password to log on to Live Meeting.

2. On the My Home page, click Meet Now Details, and then click Meet Now Options.

3. Update the Meeting Size field with a number up to 250.

4. When you have finished setting options, click OK.

The options that you have set will apply to all future Meet Now meetings.

Organizers can update their default meeting size to up to 250 for scheduled meetings using the following the steps:

1. In your Internet browser, enter the URL of the Live Meeting conference center. Enter your user login and password to log on to Live Meeting.

Netmeeting & Enable Virtual Desktop Conflict

I recently purchased the Enable Virtual Desktop program ver. 3.0.1u and was very happy with its performance until I attempted to open Netmeeting. Apparently Netmeeting has issues with Enable....which ever one is opened first works. They both give the same error message when they are the second one to run. I suspect that they are trying to utilize the same process or .dll to set up their individual desktops. Is there a way that will allow text chat and voice in Netmeeting and disable its remote desktop process requirements?

I am setting up an Event in Live Meeting. I have several meetings within this event. I would like to set up the registration to be Automatic, but would like to limit each individual to registering for one of the meetings. I would like the "Select All" option removed from the choices for registering. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Hi everyone,

We have some users that got the "Out of memory or system resorces. Close some windows or programs and try again" error when they click the Join the meeting link within a calendar invitation for a LiveMeeting session. We found out that by reinstalling the LiveMeeting console the users were able to access the session.

Since we have a hundred of users with the potential issue and error message is launched by Outlook 2007, we can't just reinstall the LM console. Is there a way to identify why is this happpening and then correct it from the root?

Issue: Cannot connect to meeing

Everytime I try to connect to a meeting or start a Meet Now, it fails to connect. I get the following message:
Live Meeting cannot connect to the meeting. Wait a few moments, and then try to join the meeting again.

If you still cannot connect, contact your administrator or technical support.

I'm wondering if there are specific IE settings that need to be configured to allow the Live Meeting console to connect. I am able to connect to meetings via a webjoin, but cannot through the console.

The things I've attempted so far:
- Modified registry with the following entries: Added a key with myintranetsite.com and then added a dword for * value of 1.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\

I also added a key for livemeeting with a dword called * with a value of 1.

- Added https://www.livemeeting.com to trusted sites
- Reset all zones to default level.

I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Problem with Osprey Video Capture Device

Are there any known conflicts with Osprey video capture devices (I believe we have an 230) and Live Meeting 2007. When setting up video/audio, Live Meeting states that device is already in use - fairly certain it isn't. Live Meeting does accept the audio from the card. We are able to capture video through the Osprey card with Window Media Encoder so issue seems to be with Live Meeting. Thanks.

Good afternoon. I work for a small city and we broadcast our public meetings over our local cable channel. We have a contract with an attorney whose office is about three hours away. We are trying to figure out a way to stream our meeting to him using our current A/V equipment. My question is if we purchase an USB video capture device such as a EASYCAP CAPTURE USB 2.0 VIDEO ADAPTER WITH AUDIO DC60, can this device be used to stream our live broadcast through MS Live Meeting? If not do you have any suggestions? We'd like to use our current system using either RCA or composite connectors. Thanks in advance for any help.

Can I Change the Color Depth in Live Meeting 2007?

Can anyone tell me how to change the color depth in Live Meeting 2007? The default color depth is too low and the images on my slides do not look good at all. I know there was a setting in LM 2005, but I cannot find it in LM 2007.
