I am trying out Office Online Live Meeting at our location. We are not using Office Communicator. I've downloaded/installed the Conferencing Add-in for MS Office Outlook to be able to schedule a meeitng.

In the User Account Setup, I entered the Live Meeting Service address, User Name and password that was provided to me during the activation. However, when I Test Connection, I get a message stating: "A connection to the Live Meeting or portal URL and try again."

    Hi

This problem occurs if you connect Live Meeting through a network firewall or a proxy server. Live Meeting Add-in does not support user authentication from a proxy service, or from the Live Meeting service so when the services do not use Windows-based authentication, the error occurs.

    Hello,

the Live Meeting URL entered in the add-in configuration page should look like this.

    https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/your_conference_center_name

The name of the conference center is the one you provided at activation of Live Meeting.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem using Outlook 2007 and Live Meeting 2007.

While trying to set teh user account, I used the https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/XXXX/loginpage in the livemeeting service field and also entered the details for username and password.

Unfortunately, while testing the connection I get a message stating that I should check the live meeting or the portal URL.

Any solutions to solve this issue ?

    Thanks

Usually when configuring the conferencing Add-in, adding "/loginpage" at the end of the URL value is a reason for connection failure.

Try removing the loginpage portion, for example:

    https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/xxxxx

    as opposed to

    https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/xxxxx/loginpage

This should resolve the connectivity error
