I understand I can insert my poll questions within my PPT by doing the following:

1. Upload your PPTX files

2. Right click the PPT page after which you want to insert the poll question page and click “insert new page”à”poll”

3. Create the poll questions as you need

However, I want to be able to do this the day before my meeting and save it and then reuse the PPT with integrated poll questions for my next meeting without having to redo everything each time - can you help???

On-Behalf-Of functionality not working with the Conferncing Add-in

When secretaries want to schedule a Livemeeting on-behal-of their boss we run into issues using the Conferencing Add-In.

Problem:

Scheduling Live meeting On behalf is not working

When a Secretary opens the calendar of her boss and schedules a live meeting then the recepients get the invitation but the meeting is not created on the Live meeting Service and the “Join Meeting” link is not working for the recepients.

If the secretary schedules a live meeting form her own calendar then everything works as espected but the mail is coming from the secretary and not from the manager.

Work around
Secretaries can schedule a meeting on the conference centerl portal and copy/paste the information in a normal meeting request, so that the invitation can be send on-behalf-of the manger.

When will Microsoft solve this issue?

About the ugly pop-up of livemeeting outlook add-in.

After we deploy the livemeeting 2007 and add-in for outlook. Some of the machine keeps pops-up this message when launching the office: http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/7053/lm1ol6.png . I tried so many ways to suppress this message but they all failed.
But I found a registry key may related to this: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Live Meeting\Addins\OutlookProfiles . The vaule in my machine is a string(random generated?)"rKr3xI0IDUyzM9cEiKkufA". When I set the value data to 7(dword), the message looks like not pop-up again. This key doesn't exist until the launch of outlook. Could anyone give me hint on this ? Thanks.

When using MS Live and presenting a Power Point slide on my desktop, the quality is degradated, looks like a picture negative but with color. Is this normal? Will uploading the PPT presentation correct this?

We're using Live Meeting 2007 and can share the builtin tools like whiteboard, no problems connecting to meetings. However we cannot share applications or desktops. No running applications are listed in the share app menu and when we select share desktop nothing happens. Any ideas?

Shared Notes

What is the trick to getting others to see Shared Notes and to be able to write to them? When I open them up as the presenter, I can see them but participants cannot. I can write to them but participants cannot. I tried sharing them by going to Contents > Share Program, but it is not listed as something I can share. Isn't that the idea behind Shared Notes?

Annotation Tools

The Live Meeting Reference cards states "You can use the Annotation Tools to highlight or add notes on presentation content, inclduing MS Powerpoint presentations, snapshot images, whiteboards, and imported documents." However, I cannot see or access these tools when I am in a shared Powerpoint or doc, etc., so how can a presenter use them outside the whiteboard? And it would be GREAT if participants could use them outside the whiteboard as well... Help!

I might add ... all of this is so easy in Webex. Why so difficult in Live Meeting?

Latency issues with Livemeeting

My company has recently shifted from WebEx to Live Meeting and I am still getting familar with the new system.

I am primarily doing web based demonstrations of our software which is relatively memory intensive. When I am showing live streaming data on the software there seems to a lag and some skipping that wasn't there with WebEx.

I'm currently only sharing the application, not my desktop. Is there anything I can do to reduce or eliminate this lag?

I recently installed Windows 7 Enterprise on a Dell E6400 laptop. The installation was a fresh install and not an upgrade. I am unable to use the Live Meeting Add In with Office 2007. The error I receive is "The Live Meeting Service unexpectedly returned invalid data. Please contact your Live Meeting Administrator." I have verified that the path to the portal and username and password work. I am also able to schedule a Meet Now meeting from within the 2007 Live Meeting Client. I have also looked at Microsoft's sites and have been unable to find any documentation that shows workarounds or details whether the Live Meeting Add in Pack for Outlook 2007 is even supported in a Windows 7 environment. Is anyone out there having the same issue? Better yet has anyone fixed this issue?

Office Live Meeting 2007 console freezes after signing in

We use Office Live Meeting on a daily basis at work. I have a ver 2007 installed in my laptop.
Once I hit on Proceed after entering all the details, the console freezes after signing in. The presentation console comes up and thenfreezes. My colleagues see me logged in.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Live Meeting, Flash Plug Ins and Java but nothing works. Is there some java or flash or any other app version affecting the console after signing in?
If anyone has a solution to resolve this issue, please suggest steps to correct this.

For now I use the web client but it is not convenient.

Cannot share any applications or desktop

Hello, we deployed Live Meeting 2007 on all of our workstations. However, I start a meeting and when I try to share my desktop, all of my attendees do not see my desktop. Then I tried the specific program that is running on my workstation and still the same results. The only thing that does seem to work is when I upload a file View Only. I am attempting to share my video and my desktop. I even tried to stop sharing my video and share only my desktop, and my attendees still do not see my desktop.

When my attendees cannot see, they do see the gray screen like it's a blank screen on their side. And they are sharing their video.

Why doesn't this feature work properly?

I installed the Outlook 2007 Add-in. I'm running Vista OS.
I get the following message: "You don't have the necessary privileges to schedule meetings. Please contact your LiveMeeting administrator."

I did not have this issue when I had XP. I also am administrator on my PC.

I've googled but the information I've found must be for a XP OS becuase the steps provided can not be followed on this OS.

Any suggestions on how to resolve?

How can I upload documents other than ppt files.
For every attempt I get the following error:
'You've attempted to upload a document, but the feature required to upload the document was not included in the installation of Live Meeting. You can share the document using application sharing or reinstall Live Meeting while running as an administrator. This functionality is not available on 64 bit operating systems. Note: You can still upload PowerPoint presentations.'

File Transfer Using Live Meeting

On other computers I'm able to see these menu options. What's the difference?

Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 - freezes always when connected

I'm trying to connect to a meeting with Live Meeting (latest version) but always when meeting screen appears program freezes. Application is not responding at all, but I can see I'm visible by other uses as logged in.

Live Meeting 2007 sharing a browser - grey shadows

I am trying to configure LM 2007. I am using it solely to share IE and possibly some documents. The method of presentation is Share>Share a Program>Internet Explorer. Doing this displays the IE page on the attendee screens. The problem is twofold:
1. I need to leave the browser up on my screen in order for it to be visible to the attendees. Is it possible to "bring to front" the IE screen to eliminate the need for the presenter to have it maximized?
2. When I access the sharing bar while IE is shared, the attendees see a grey "shadow" in their Live Meeting.
3. I would like to change the default background when an attendee joins a meeting to something other than solid grey, is that possible?

I appreciate any help.

I want to make a presentation in a class, in front of a group of users.
Therefore, I want to use the desktop sharing option of live meeting.
I want the meeting to be in full screen mode, and the users to be unable to leave the meeting or close the window/process.

My manager and I are running a webinar using Microsoft Live meeting. One of the attendees does not have radio buttons in the polls, and cannot see the interactive icons (check mark, etc) at the bottom of the window. Why can the attendee not see these interactive elements, and how can we enable them?

A quick question: Does Live Meeting support video conferencing between 2 places that both have Round Table devices (CX 5000).

I'm trying to look into making a sollid link between two of our offices across Europe in order to allow for proper video conferencing and was wondering wether this is possible with Live Meeting seeing as it otherwise fits all the requirements set for the project. And ofcourse it's handy not to have to intergrate an additional solution besides Communicator and Live Meeting that we already have.

Hello, I'm evaluating Live Meeting 2007, using a demo service account from MS, and I've a few questions. Hopefully this is the right section.

First, I see references to the Live Meeting Console in various documents.   Most references are to LM2005.   Is the console now actually the Live Meeting 2007 client? Or, is it a separate application? (and if so, where can it be obtained?)

Second, I'm using two laptops for my eval, both with web cams, and I'm trying to get them to show the current speaker - but it's not clear how to select the current speaker.   I can manually select the speaker, but each client seems to insist that the OTHER is the current speaker.

So, how does one specify *who* the current speaker is?

Finally, I've done a little testing with the "Share a Web Page" feature and it seems that the shared web page is by default fully accessible to all participants and bypasses their local network security.    For example - and this was my test - our local government offices block sites such as Facebook.  I have no such restrictions. I recruited an authorised IT person in a government office (they are also LM users) to join a meeting as participant.   I then shared Google, and he was able to simply search for Facebook, click on the links, and get right in.

There was also no indication to me, as presenter or as participant, that he was anywhere but on the page I was sharing.

This leads to two questions.   How does one prevent users from wandering away via a shared web page, and is there a way to force use of their local security policies?

How to Block Attendee from Unmuting Audio Voice?

After setup and entry into a meeting, I would like to prevent attendees from unmuting their Audio Voice (I see you can mute all by yourself, but the attendee can quickly unmute themselve). We use a combination of Telehpone Conference (which we can mute all and keep them muted) and Live Meeting two way conferencing using Computer Microphone and Headset. I would like to block attendees from unmuting their microphone until we finish the presentation and open for discussion. Is there a way to do this?

If I share a document while in a Live Meeting (LM) session, can anyone being attendee to the meeting have access to the document (other than viewing it) or can anyone access it from the metting content share on the server while the LM is on or even after the LM is over. does the doc, shared, remain semewhere on the server even after the LM is over.

Outlook "Save and Close" and "Send Update" have different behaviours when adding / deleting participants

With Conferencing Addin for Outlook ver 8.0.6362.140 when you have a live meeting that you add an additional participant to, then click on "Save and Close" it will prompt you whether to send to just the added participants or everyone. If instead you click on the "Send Update" it will send the updated meeting to all the existing participants and the newly added participant. If you use microsoft outlook calendar (not for live meeting : using Outlook 2003 11.8217.8221), both the "Save and Close" and "Send Update" with always prompt you whether to send to just the added participants or everyone.

Is this an expected behaviour for Live meeting?

Navigation within uploaded PowerPoint presentation

Uploaded presentation fine but navigating through it is a challenge.

Arrow keys and PgUp/PgDn do not change slides, instead they just change which directional arrow (forward/back) is highlighted. Keys perform properly when viewing ppt outside of LM.

Also a mouse to navigate by clicking on the directional arrows sometimes requires dble click for response ... this sometimes results in skipping through slides so I believe there is a delay between the click and the action but as it is inconsistent it becomes a challenge ... using the keys would be such a nice alternative.

Are the arrow/PgUp/PgDn keys supposed to work within LM during a shared presentation?

LiveMeeting 2007 full client stops responding on Participant's PC when Presenter switches to second slide in PowerPoint slideshow

I have an ongoing repeat-able issue where LiveMeeting on the participant's side will stop responding when the presenter changes to the 2nd slide in a PowerPoint presentation. The participant's (full client) LiveMeeting will show the first slide in a presentation upon connecting to the meeting, but when the presenter clicks on the Down arrow button to move to the next slide, the participant's LiveMeeting goes grey except for the shell, and stops responding. The participant cannot end task on the app to close it.

Per MS LiveMeeting tech support, the only way to resolve this issue is to log off or restart the Participant's PC, have the Presenter send the meeting URL with a modification. The URL modification is to add the word "web" into the URL before the word "join" in the URL. This forces the Participant to join the meeting with the Web Client. When a participant joins the meeting with the Web Client, they do not experience the freeze/hang/unresponsiveness when viewing the 2nd slide in the presentation.

We will have at least 20 users initially and I'm very concerned that this issue will occur, as most of the 20 users will have the full client and Outlook Add-in installed prior to training of LiveMeeting 2007, will be joining meetings with the full client and will be viewing PowerPoint presentations. The default action for those users who already have the full client installed is for the full client to launch when joining a meeting via the Join this Meeting link in an invitation/email. It's unacceptable for our users to have to edit URL's of a meeting already in session and send a second invitation.

I've tried separate VLANs on our network; some secured, some not. It's difficult to completely isolate the test systems because, in practice they will live on the same network/vlan and Outlook integration is essential. Cisco network security (WAF etc.), and Websense are active on the network. The test systems are XP w/ SP3, Office 2003 w/ SP3, LiveMeeting 2007 v. 8.0.6362.128 with Outlook Add-in installed, and Symantec Enterprise AV. All other content seems to not cause the LM client to stop responding. MS LiveMeeting tech support claims it may be due to an issue with the (free) PowerPoint Viewer caching, but the small PowerPoint Viewer is not installed; the full version of PowerPoint is installed.

When the app stops responding, no error report is generated. No events in the event viewer are recorded other than Event ID 1517. I tried turning off DEP for just PWConsole.exe with no result. The hanging stopped for a short while, with no descernable change in our network topography or security. Just when I was ready to demo, the effect has appeared again.

Please and thanks for your help; this really is a deal-breaker for LiveMeeting if I cannot get it resolved and has delayed me from demo-ing LiveMeeting to those that really need it.

Disable buttons on the meeting add-in

I tried using the search function but I couldn't find any topics. I have the feeling the search doesn't work anymore lately, but that's another case than this question.

I start this topic because I wonder if it's possible to disable certain buttons on the Microsoft Office Live Meeting add-in bar in Outlook 2007. My company thinks Live Meeting doesn't perform well, so we decided not to use that feature. But we do like the 'Schedule a conference call' button and we'd love to keep that. It integrates very well with OCS and even external users can call into the conference with the given telephone number.

So, is it possible to disable both Live Meeting buttons (instant and scheduled) and to only keep the conference schedule button?

Number of Participants

Most participants will have loaded the client (not using the web interface), but we do not yet have a local communications server so we are using the Microsoft server.

Content Expiration and Q&A

My customer is asking if the content expiration setting will impact the Q&A log. They are a financial institution and are required to have no data sitting out on the server. They have set content expiration to 5 minutes to ensure all uploaded content is deleted promptly.

Can you confirm whether this expiration will also include the Q&A log? If not, can you explain how they can go about automatically deleting this log? They do not want to have the presenter manually delete after each meeting.

Problem uploading content in Livemeeting

Hello,

I seem to be having problems uploading content in Livemeeting. I’ve done this several times before so I know it works.

May 28th I was able to upload and view content (such as a PowerPoint presentation) in Livemeeting. And previous to May 28th, I've done it several times.

June 2nd I was able to upload but not able to VIEW uploaded content in Livemeeting. After I successfully upload the content it gets stuck on a screen that says "Loading content". And since June 2nd, I haven't been able to view any uploaded content. I can't even use the Snapshot function because it gets stuck on the same "Loading content" screen.

This is very problematic for me because I deliver training courses this way. I don't get any error messages, it just stays on the "Loading content" screen.

What could have changed between May 28th and June 2nd that would affect viewing uploaded content?

Unable to proceed with the recording/modalities error

Hi,

One of my clients had tried recording a session and they received a message saying "Some of the modalities specified in your recording request may not get fully recorded because they are currently unavailable". One of my colleagues said they had come across this earlier, however does not remember the resolution.

I am looking forward to find a solution to this.
