Unable to view Live Meeting Video on Windows7

We have recorded a Live Meeting and saved the file locally. When attempting to play it back only the audio plays and the video is just a blank blue screen. This issue occurs on Windows 7 RTM with IE8. The video files seems to be present. How do I get it to play back properly?

Live meeting playback recorded file problem

We have recorded a videoconference with live meeting. If I play the meeting locally on my computer by opening file Replaymeeting.htm it works fine. IE asks me if I allow too run some ActiveX, surelly I press yes & everything works fine.

Problem:
We wanted to upload this meeting on our intranet, soo all the employes will be able to watch it. After we have uploaded it and made the hyperlink to be linked to htm file (replaymeeting.htm), when you click on this link, a new IE window opens but it does not open the recorded video. All what appears is a small window in upper left corner of the screen, with OFFICE LIVE MEETING word at the top of this window and it keeps loading and loading, but nothing happens.

-I have checked that there is no spaces in the hyperlink.
-I dont even understand why this hyperlink opens as a small window, but if I open htm locally it opens in full IE window, with bunch of other stuff (for example, that you can choose if you want to only hear the audio file, or also see the video, etc.).

Does anyone have a clue, how can we fix this problem? I saw a solution to use converter, soo I can convert this hole meeting too one wmv file, but this file is then 5times bigger then the original recorded files.

Hi,

Many times I join a Live Meeting using only the phone (cell phone or landline).
No web login involved.
How can I mute my regular touch tone phone during this meeting?
I have seen all kinds of links that talk about "web integration" for audio and clicking buttons on web pages / computers to mute audio, but none of them mentions how to mute a "regular" handheld phone. I would appreciate some details on how to do this.

If you used Live Meeting record someone elses presentation and for the presentation you had to dial into a phone call, is there a way to take a WAV file from your phone system and merge it for use in the playback? The presenter has a regular problem where they don't get a good recording or take months to post the recording so I am looking for a backup way of gettingt he recording. Has anyone been able to do this?

SIP Audio in Livemeeting

We are having problems with our proxy server when we intercept livemeeting traffic. The meeting loads correctly however any tunneled SIP traffic or direct SIP traffic from the client to the source is either not supported by our proxy or blocked explicitly on the inside - in interface of our firewall. We are willing to
add an exception for SIP traffic to the livemeeting public IP ranges. Are the Subnets listed in this thread the same subnets that SIP traffic will be sourced from?

Audio not working on relays

Hi I am having a problem with the audio not working when trying to play back a recorded livemeeting. I often watch recorded webcast in the Microsoft Partner center but all of a sudden the audio stopped working. I've tried both options high fidelity and the other one which just plays in the media center. When I try and play other things in the media center the audio works. I've tried uninstalling live meeting 2007. I've even uninstalled the K-Lite codec pack I've been using for years all with no luck. I think it started after an update came down for live meeting. I am running a computer with Windows Vista 32bit, and I have media center 11 on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Displaying PDF XML MPP PPT in Live Meeting

In order to display certain documents in Live Meeting (ie: .pdf, .xml, .mpp, .ppt, etc) you must first "print" them to the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Document Writer . I now find out that I can no longer "print" to the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Document Writer from within a .xml file created through Microsoft InfoPath. I can still however, print .ppt, .mpp, & .pdf files. Thinking it was something with the upgrade of my computer, I had someone else try on their computer, but they could not print from the .xml files either. I cannot determine if this is a problem with InfoPath, the Document Writer, or what. The version of the Document Writer I'm using is 11.03.0002.00. The version of InfoPath on my computer is InfoPath 2007 (12.0.6413.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000). The version of Live Meeting is Version 8.0.6362.140.

I have been able to temporarily work around this issue by exporting the .xml file created in InfoPath to a .pdf, and the printing to the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Document Writer. Question... Does this sound like a Live Meeting issue and is any one else having this problem?

Using a web cam, the video feed from my own camera consumes the second monitor of my multiple monitor setup. This seems to happen automatically without user selection. How is this disabled?

Greetings~
I'm pretty new to Live Meeting, but my company has been using it for years. They frequently host training sessions with it, save the whole meeting and then make it available on their website. Unfortunately, due to the complex nature our our software the videos can get very long and now we want to split them up a bit.
I'm currently working with a 40minute WMV that's 8MB, but have been unable to split it successfully. The file will either crash all the video editors I've tried outright or occasionally it will produce a 40MB file from a 10minute split, which is a little unfeasable. I've also noticed that the video will only play in Windows Media Player. I have other WMVs that run grand in alternative viewers, but this seems bound to WMP somehow.

I HAVE A VISTA COMPAQ LAPTOP and i have a problem with windows media player...when i Play any dvd movie by inserting dvd in the laptop and try to play using winodws media player it plays the movie but there is no sound and no sound using headphone as well...Infact the dvd movies saved on my comp which used to play with windows media playe.When i try to play the saved movies it plays but no volume...Where in when i play the audio songs saved on my comp it plays perfectly well and when i play the video songs saved on comp it also plays well..The only problem is that when I play dvds on my laptop and saved movies windows media player...there is no sound (neither on speaker nor on headphone)...Please help

Has anyone implemented the LiveMeeting registry changes on desktops to cap the bandwidth to a specific limit? We are considering to implement this registry change to minimize network bandwidth for the enterprise but would appreciate any feedback from anyone that have tried it in terms of user experience (most especially when using video). What is the ideal limit if only using webcams, limit if using roundtable device(s).

Videofeed stopped due to low connection speed

Hi,

working on this issue for months now (not continuously off course), so if anyone can explain this?

The video streaming is abruptly stopped after seconds, giving the error message "Videofeed stopped due to low connection speed". What could cause this message? Cannot find any information on the Internet.

Additional details:
* We are using the LiveMeeting hosted solution, so no OCS. The LM connection works fine, only the streaming video not
* It's a trial version to test first... And audio is not tested, since it is not enabled in this trial version
* Computer is fully compatible with LM requirements and latest software is used
* Local LAN is Gigabit, all HTTP(S) traffic passes ISA proxy0, which forwards this to ISA proxy3 in a datacenter, passing a Firewall to the Internet
* Proxy performs no authentication
* Downloaded dummy files from the Internet to exclude the WAN: perfect throughput

There is more info behind it, but then it takes pages to write it all down.

I am trying to figure out what breakout rooms can be useful for without the ability to "break out" the audio conversation also. Any feedback would be appreciated. Is this is planned feature in future versions? IF running over OCS does this work the same way or can you break out audio in an OCS configuration?

LM Audio Degradation

We have started to experience a growing number of instances in which LM audio is degradated - sometimes at the beginning of LMs, other times at various points within LMs (e.g., fine for 15-30 minutes, then serious degradation). Occasionally, disconnecting and then reconnecting to the meetings seems to resolve the issue. But, for other times, the resolution is only temporary.

These problems ssem to have started, perhaps only coincidentally, with the introduction of 8-port switches to support multiple connections for meetings - specifically a Roundtable and 1 or more PCs. This was done since not all of our meeting rooms have more than one network port available for use.

Anyone have any experiences like this or suggestions for how to fix this? We do not think bandwidth contention is a prime candidate given the bandwdith available wihtin our network and the traffic stats we have for analysis related to that as a source.

LM use is starting to grow rapidly, making it critical that we identify the source of this so we can implement a solution we are confident will ameliorate the problem.

Video Quality in Live Meeting

I'm trying to use the video (webcam) option in Live Meeting 2007. My video quality is generally poor - very choppy and freezes frequently for anywhere from 1 second to 10+ seconds.

My set-up is simple - only one camera on the presenter with no one else sharing video

The problem is obvious on the presenter's machine and the video freezes in exactly the same spot for all the attendees. It seems as if Live Meeting on the presenter's machine is just bogging down while trying to encode the video stream.

I've tried using different computers, all recent models and running XP-SP3, and different webcams but the problem is fairly consistent with all hardware configurations.

Network congestion isn't an issue as we have plenty of bandwidth and we regularly send out video streams of 300k and above from this location using Windows Media without any problems.

Any ideas?

Sharing Multimedia/Recorded Video?

I've seen a couple references to showing "synchronized multimedia" around the LM site, but can't find any specific information. I have a user who wants to share recorded video. This used to be a no-no in the old days. Is this possible now with 2007, or is there a special service needed to deliver recorded video? (I know we can link the audience to a url, but this is not synchronized.)

Max resolution video - limitations and possibilities

Hello - I am trying to use LiveMeeting video conference in combination with the document sharing for design workshop use. The setup is the following:

- projector displays the screen image with document templates og screen drafts onto a whiteboard surface
- a camera with a resolution a bit higher than the average webcam (something like Logitech quickcam pro 9000 or better)
is directed onto this surface (where we show prototype and then draw directely with whiteboard pen in the projected
picture). This image feeds via USB back into the LiveMeeting conference. The result is a video image of a projected image
with drawings. This image is then captured with eg. SnagIt and imported into the original computer document, which is
then projcted onto the whiteboard screen.

In order for this to be a practical solution, we would like to operate with higher resolution video.
Question: is there any limit to the resultion given by the platform/server, client & are these parameters possible to adjust.

My company can host this type of server if we need to set up a special configuration in order to support this type of tasks.
Network Bandwith is not a limiting factor on our side.

I have searched an searched but i can´t find a way to enable Two way computer audio for all participants. Not true the webmanager and not true the client. One way is not a problem and is working fine.

And is it posible to view multiple webcams? Like when users are lin different locations.

So far I have "presented" 4 Live Meetings, 2 of those 4 have recorded without any trouble, but the last 2 in a row that I have recorded never showed up in my Live Meeting. Has anyone else encountered this? After the first of the 2 didn't show up in my Live Meeting I was very careful to check that I was recording and when I stopped recording and saved I saw that I had almost an hour recorded. It has to be somewhere, does anyone know if there is any way to retrieve these 2 recordings?

Any ideas why this is happening? As far as I can remember I set up all 4 meetings either the same day or just within days of each other and I had saved the settings from the first meeting I set up so they all should have the same settings.

Q 1: Why am I not able to hear audio in Live Meeting 2007 as a presenter?

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Join a Live Meeting 2007 meeting as an Organizer or Presenter by using the Live Meeting 2007 Windows Console.

Located on the top of your Live Meeting 2007 console window is the Live Meeting 2007 Console menu.

Q 2: The audio device does not work on a Windows Vista-based computer after I use the Windows-based Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 client to join a conference.

This issue occurs when there is a conflict between Windows Speech Recognition in Windows Vista and the Live Meeting 2007 client. When Windows Vista starts, Windows Speech Recognition also starts. Therefore, the Live Meeting 2007 client cannot use the audio device.

To resolve this issue, make sure that no application has exclusive control of the audio device. To do this, follow the steps described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938287.

Q 3: I receive "An audio codec is needed to play this file" error message when I try to access the streaming audio broadcast of a meeting in Live Meeting. What do I need?

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:

Method 1: Install the Vivog723.inf file

Q 4: I am experiencing poor audio quality when I use Internet Audio Broadcast to listen to a meeting.

This issue may occur for one or more of the following reasons:

· This issue may be caused by network congestion or by Internet congestion.

· This issue may be caused by congestion on proxy devices, firewall devices, and Network Address Translation (NAT) devices that are used for incoming Internet connections or for outgoing Internet connections.

· This issue may be caused by a slow Internet connection, such as a dial-up connection, a slow broadband connection, or an intermittent broadband connection.

· This issue may be caused by software that bounds sound card drivers, monitors sound card drivers, or uses sound card drivers. Or, this issue may be caused by software that uses computer resources such as CPU resources, memory resources, or network resources.

· This issue may be caused by audio programs or Voice over IP (VoIP) programs, such as Vonage and Skype, that compete for bandwidth on the network. These programs may cause network saturation to the extent to which the audio seems choppy or stops.

To resolve this issue, determine whether the audio quality is related to Live Meeting services or to something else. Follow the steps described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944626/en-us.

Q 5: I receive the "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page'' error message when I try to join a meeting. What do I do?

This issue occurs if ActiveX controls are prevented from running on your computer. ActiveX controls may not run for one or both the following reasons:

Microsoft Internet Explorer may be configured to block ActiveX controls from running.

A firewall or a proxy server that exists between your computer and the Live Meeting conference center may be configured to block ActiveX controls.

Q 6: I get an error message when I try to join a Live Meeting 2007 session that uses the Internet Audio Broadcasting feature: "An error occurred while connecting to the audio broadcast for this meeting"

This issue occurs because certain settings have to be adjusted in one or both of the following programs:

· Microsoft Internet Explorer

· Microsoft Windows Media Player

Q 7: Why is my image file displayed in black and white when I upload it to a meeting?

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. In Control Panel, right-click the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer in the list of printers, and then click Properties.

3. Click the Advanced tab.

4. Under Output format, change TIFF - Monochrome FAX to MDI, and then click OK.

Q 8: My attendees are seeing a black screen when I share a program as a presenter in Live Meeting. What can I do?

To work around this issue, do each of the following as appropriate to your situation, and then restart your computer:

· Disable any remote-control software or PC Synchronization tools. For example, disable remote-control programs that allow you to control a remote PC from your desktop.

· Disable or quit any utilities for synchronizing your PC with your handheld device or portable computer.

· Reduce the hardware acceleration on your computer.

Q 9: I have recorded a Live Meeting session. How do I access and view my recordings?

You have the option to either store your Live Meeting recording locally on your computer or on your Live Meeting server to share with authorized users.

Note: The option to save the recording to the Live Meeting service is available to you if you are registered to use Office Live Meeting Professional Edition. This recording option is not available to you if you are registered to use Office Live Meeting Standard Edition.

To set your recording options

1. Click Recording. If the recording pane contains both a To My Computer tab and a To Service tab, click one to specify where you want to save the recording. Then Click Options.

2. In the Personal Recording Options dialog box, select all of the meeting options you want to record (including Data, Voice, Video, and Panoramic Video).

3. If you want to change the location where the recorded meeting is saved, next to the Save To text box, click Change, and then navigate to the folder where you want to save your recording

To view a recording that is saved to your computer.

1. Click the Start menu on your computer, click All Programs, click Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007, and then click Microsoft Office Live Meeting Recording Manager.

2. In the Live Meeting Recording Manager dialog box, under Recent Recording, right-click the recording name, and then click Play.

To view a recording that is saved to your Live Meeting service.

1. Log on to Live Meeting Manager.

2. On the My Home page, under View, click Recordings.

3. Under View recording, in the ID and Recording Key boxes, enter the recording ID and the recording key, respectively. By default, the recording key is the same as the meeting key. If the meeting did not require a meeting key, then by default no recording key is required.

Q 10: Is there a way to convert my Live Meeting 2007 HFP (High Fidelity Presentation) recordings into single WMV files?

Currently there is not a Microsoft supported method to convert a Live Meeting 2007 HFP recording format. This is an area we are continually looking at for new developments and a tool may be developed for this case.

You still have the old WMV format along with the new richer experience format. Both of these can be used for the same event. The WMV format, while not with all the whistles and bells of the new format, can be viewed online as before. The newer high quality format has to be downloaded and viewed on a machine.
