I would like to generate mailing lists (many small, one huge, daily changes) from another database we are using to manage our organizational structure, so that our members can easily stay in touch over OWA and mobile devices. Is it possible to write the mailing lists into the Global Address List and Sync them to Microsoft Online Services via the AD sync? Is there another option to maintain the Lists on a daily basis?

Hi, it sounds like you are on the right track there with creating groups in the local Active Directory and then syncing them up to Microsoft Online using the directory sync.  As long as the mail or proxyaddresses attribute is populated in the local Active Directory, the groups should show up as Distribution Lists within Microsoft Online.

If you are chaning them on a daily basis you might run into problems with Outlook clients being a bit out of sync due to how frequently the Offline Addressbook is generated.
