I am following up on a similar request made by Oliver in March, and that is: the ability to define and implement a company-wide standardized email signature format to be applied to all users. This signature would then be applied whether the user is using Outlook from the desktop or OWA. This should be a part of Exchange, but never has been implemented.

Oliver is correct to point out that there are several third-party solutions that do this (Exclaimer, Mail Signature Manager, etc.). We're not asking for you to implement a third-party application, but to provide a similar means from within Microsoft Online.

    Hi,

BPOS Technical Support can assist you with applying disclaimers for all outbound messages.  As BPOS Technical Support does not have direct access to create the required transport rules, we submit a request to our hosting team to apply the transport rule (Disclaimer). However, your issue is outside the scope of this forum. Please submit this issue to your Microsoft Online Services Company Administrator and request that a service request be submitted though the Microsoft Online Services Adminstration Center to BPOS-S Technical Support.

Please provide the following details to your company administrator for the Service Request:

    Thank You

Please may I support Kevin's request. I currently implement for my company an automatic disclaimer through the third-party hosted mail filtering service (Mailcontroller) I use behind my exchange server. I am looking to move to hosted e-mail services and want to retain an automatic disclaimer as it is a UK Companies Act requirement for business e-mails to carry certain company information. A number of the hosted exchange services I'm considering offer this. I have just logged a support request, as suggested in the response to Oliver in March, and received a response that referred me to the client-based signature capability and said Microsoft will not provide a user-independent facility.

I very much hope that Microsoft will move quickly to include an automatic disclaimer in its development programme.

Further to my last post, I suspect my requirement may be different from that of Kevin or Oliver in that all I want is a standard disclaimer which is a fixed text for all users in the domain. My initial request to BPOS support for this elicited the answer that it is not supported, but subsequent discussions with them reveal that this is something they will implement on request - so my need, at least, is satisfied.

    Thanks for the info ...

Now this actually brings up another set of questions ....

    - Where can I find BPOS policy information?
While on premise customers created their own e-mail policies as they had full control over their environment. In BPOS I loose some of the control, but I still owe my Governance body and end-users the information. What can be governed by the customer compare to what is goverbed by BPOS. What needs to go through support as special request?

Can anybody point out where I find these information?
    Here some Example:
    - Archiving policies, retention times (configurable by customer or set in stone by BPOS)
    - Blocked files types (configurable by customer or set in stone by BPOS)
    - Account lockout time, password policy
    - etc ....

Please note: I know I can find some information in various forums here, but I think there should be a document which talks about it in detail, without me going through 100 forum questions and answers (and then I still do not know if the answers are authorative).

    I checked as well: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/Technet/en-us/MSOnline/bpos/index.html
